Registration
The Energy Future Conferences were initiated in 2014 with the mission to facilitate the industry-research interaction and innovation benefiting Australia. The conference is organised by volunteers and is a non-profit event.
The EF5 2024 conference specifically will also act as a platform for ECRs and HDR students to engage with wide range of stakeholders dedicated to decarbonisation research and technologies, as well as facilitating knowledge sharing on the latest developments in the materials research and system for energy transition while embracing the opportunity to engage with industry to discuss the challenges and opportunities in decarbonising aviation sector.
Conference registration covering all three key streams and each key stream registration are available. Registration portal is opening in September.

Terms and Conditions
By registering for this event, you agree that these Terms & Conditions govern your registration and participation at the Event. The Event will be hosted by UNSW Sydney (Organiser), ABN 57 195 873 179, UNSW Sydney NSW 2052. All references to “you” in these Terms & Conditions means the registrant listed in the registration form.
Fees
You agree to pay the Event participation fee. Event participation fees are quoted in Australian Dollars, and must be paid prior to attending the Event.
Cancellation and refund policy
Cancellations must be advised in writing to the conference secretariat. Registration cancellations need to be received by 30 days prior to the event for a refund of registration fees, less an administrative charge of $30 AUD.
Refunds for cancellations received after 1 October 2024 will be at the discretion of the conference committee. Eligible refunds will be issued after the conclusion of the conference. Registrations are NOT transferable, except for medical issues and need to be advised in writing prior to the start of the Conference.
Event cancellation and program
The Organiser may at any time and at its discretion reduce the scope of, postpone or cancel the Event. Should this occur, the Organiser will provide as much notice as possible and if the Event is cancelled, the Organiser will refund your participation fees in the same form as the original payment. In the event of cancellation, you agree to discharge the Organiser of any liability from any claim arising out of or in connection with the cancellation of the Event. The program for the Event is correct at the time of publishing, however is subject to change at the Organiser’s discretion. Subject to any statutory rights of refund, if the Event takes place there is no right to a refund or exchange.
Indemnity and release
To the extent permitted by law, the Organiser is not liable for any loss, damage, expense, injury or other claim in relation to your attendance at the Event, except where any such loss, damage, expense, injury or other claim is caused by the Organiser’s gross negligence or wilful misconduct. The Organiser’s maximum aggregate liability to you arising out of or in relation to the Event shall in no circumstances exceed the amount of the Event participation fee.
Participant behaviour and damage
The Organiser reserves the right to prohibit entry of any person to the Event, or eject any person from the Event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by the Organiser’s staff and/or its agents. You agree to pay in full for any damage or loss sustained to any property as a result of your actions during the Event, as well as the cost of any additional cleaning required to property as deemed necessary by the Organiser.
Registration cancellation
If after registration, you are no longer able to attend the Event, you must as soon as practicable advise the Organiser in writing. The Organiser reserves the right to retain the full amount of the paid participation fee as a cancellation fee as per the stated Event Refund Policy, except in the event of exceptional circumstances (such as unforeseen illness or misadventure).
Privacy and personal information
1. You consent to the Organiser collecting and storing your personal information, including all of the information contained in the registration form, for the purposes of:
a. administering and managing the Event, including updating your record in the Organiser’s database; and
b. distributing your information to other Event participants (name, title, and organisation only).
2. The Organiser may use your personal information to contact you in the future for purposes relating to the Event or to promote future events.
3. The supply of your personal information is voluntary, however if you do not provide it to the Organiser you may not be able to register for and participate in the Event.
4. You have the right to access and correct any personal information relating to you which is held by the Organiser.
5. All personal information collected will be handled in accordance with the UNSW Sydney Privacy Management Plan.
Use of your image
You acknowledge and agree that the Organiser may take photos or audio/visual recordings of you throughout your participation in the Event, and that the Organiser may use the photos or recordings for future promotional and marketing purposes without further reference or compensation to you. Your image will also be archived with the Organiser and may be used by the Organiser for the promotion of future events. You release and discharge the Organiser, its staff and its agents from any and all loss, damage, expense or claims that you may suffer or incur by reason of anything contained in the photographs or recordings involving you. Should you not agree to the above image release, you must advise the Organiser in writing prior to the Event.
Cancellations must notified in writing (email is sufficient) to the Conference Secretariat: mandalena@unsw.edu.au. Cancellations made by the deadline will result in a full refund less $30 to cover admin costs. Alternatively, it is permitted to transfer your registration to another person by the same deadline without incurring any cost or penalty. Failure to obtain an appropriate visa to enter Australia does not constitute a refund. No refunds will be made after the deadline due to failure to secure a visa to Australia. The conference secretariat must be advised in writing of any alterations or transfers.
Disclaimer
All best endeavours will be made to present the program as printed on this website. The Conference organiser reserve the right to alter without prior notice, any of the arrangements, timetables, plans or other items relating to the meeting, for any cause beyond its reasonable control. The Organising committee are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused as a result of such alteration. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Organising committee do not accept responsibility for loss of monies caused by delays. Participants are advised to take out personal travel insurance and to extend their policy to cover personal possessions. The Conference does not cover individual against cancellations of bookings or theft or damage to belongings.
