Poster Submission

Poster presentation
A poster session will be held on the evening of Day 1 of the Conference. A short and engaging presentation by the researcher on the findings and significance of their work will be part of the judging criterium. The best and most compelling poster(s) will be awarded prizes. 

Poster prizes

  1. Poster prize to be sponsored IRN FACES - Best poster award on fundamental research and development for energy storage and conversion 

  2. Poster prize - (cash prizes) to be sponsored by UNSW Global Water Institute prize for translation research on technologies or systems to enable the development of a sustainable and equitable hydrogen economy. Two prizes to be won: $2000 for 1st prize and $1000 for a runner up.

  3. Poster prize to be sponsored by Prodigitek - $500 cash prize for People’s choice award.

To be eligible for the Poster Competition Award, the presenter must be:

  • A higher degree research (HDR) student enrolled in Australian or Overseas institute

  • Or an Early Career Researcher (ECR) who has graduated with PhD/Masters within the past five years

  • Follow the below guidelines.

Presenters will have the following opportunities to present your research and communicate with attendees:

  1. Provide a one-page Poster PDF that can be published as supplemental material to the abstract

  2. Submit a three-minute recorded presentation (video file)

  3. Participate in real-time and asynchronous discussion with attendees via Wonder.me https://www.wonder.me/

Presenters may choose one or multiple methods of presentation (example, provide a Poster PDF (1) and be available for real-time discussion (3), or provide a 3-minute video (2) and a Poster PDF (1)). However, presenters are highly encouraged to take on all three options (1), (2) and (3) to best facilitate a dynamic virtual Poster Session.

Recorded Three-Minute Video

The three-minute video can include a PowerPoint as an accompaniment but is limited to no more than 3 slides. Each slide must clearly display PRESENTER name and TITLE as your abstract. Please submit your video in mp4 format to mandalena@unsw.edu.au or upload it below by 10th October 2021 – This is a hard deadline. Please note file must not exceed 10MB.

No LIVE presentation will be given, but we will encourage real-time engagement through our poster session where you will be given the opportunity to interact with attendees.

Zoom Recording Instructions

  • Open Zoom. In your profile, click "Settings", then "Recordings". Be sure that Local Recordings is on.

  • At the upper right corner, it will say “Host a Meeting”. Click on “Host a Meeting with Video”, and follow the instructions to download and run Zoom or wait for the meeting to generate.

  • Be sure that your audio and video are both on and working. The video is required in order to ensure a high-quality experience for the audience.

  • The size of the webcam will be 224x126 pixels in the upper right corner.  Once you start screen sharing, your video will move to the upper right-hand corner and may potentially cover text or images.  Please adjust your presentation accordingly.

  • Become familiar with the Zoom tools available at the bottom of your screen. We encourage the use of the embedded laser pointer during the recording.

  • Press the “Record” button.Select “Share Screen” and begin your presentation. As a reminder, your presentation should not exceed 3 minutes.

  • Once you have finished your presentation, you can select “Stop Record” and then end the meeting, or simply end the meeting--which will stop the recording. It will begin to convert your video to your local system into three files: an .m4a, .m3u and .mp4 file.
